Lucas Nicolas Bravo was born on March 26, 1988 in Nice, France to his parents Eva and Daniel Bravo. His mother was a singer, while his father was a professional football (soccer) player. Growing up, he travelled around Europe due to his father playing football professionally and explained it was “always heartbreaking to leave his friends.” When Lucas was 11-years-old, his mother convinced him to take an improv class, which gave him stability and inspiration. While working as a bartender at a Japanese-French fusion restaurant in his late 20s, he asked to help out in the kitchen when their sous-chef left; after being given more responsibilities, he became the sous-chef at that restaurant. Lucas learned techniques and ways to recycle everything that wasn’t going to be used.
Lucas’s acting career began in 2013 appearing in short films titled Subtitles and Cracs, followed by two episodes on the television show “Sous le soleil de Saint-Tropez” as Jeff. The next year, Lucas appeared in his first feature film titled Smart Ass, a film about a small group of French business school students attempt to apply their academic outlines to their sex lives, as Antoine. Also in 2014, he would appear in the short film Iwaa.
In 2015, Lucas appeared in the television mini-series “T.O.C.”, as Adrian, before playing Mathieu Grange in an episode of the television series “Plus belle la vie”. Lucas played Frédéric in the short film Beautiful injuries in 2017, also appearing in a Chanel beauty advertisement campaign with Ellie Bamber. His next project would come as playing Arsène in the short film Caprice, as well as Le Dîner with Magali Lange for The Actors Factory before booking his first major role. Lucas signed on to play Gabriel, a French chef, for the Netflix series “Emily in Paris”, starring Lily Collins. The series was created by Darren Star, famous for “Sex and the City”, a series Lucas has claimed he’s watched countless times. The show premiered on Netflix in October of 2020 and quickly became a worldwide hit.
The short film A Matter of Time is currently in post-production, and production for the film adaptation of Paul Gallico’s novel Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, in which Lucas portrays the role of André Fauvel, is currently filming. The film also stars Jason Isaacs and Alba Baptista.
